We as a disciple of Jesus Christ are ambassadors for Christ. The ambassador serves in a foreign land as the representative of the King or the head of the government. The King has a message, and the ambassador delivers that message on behalf of the king to the people of the foreign land. Moreover, the ambassador learns the native lifestyle
We are part of the kingdom of God. Jesus is king here. We are his ambassador to this earth. The ambassador is someone very special. An ambassador does not speak his own word. An ambassador does not speak on his own authority; his own opinions or demands. He does not speak to please his audience. The king commissioned and appointed the ambassador to speak on behalf of Him.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
As an ambassador, our simple strong and direct appeal to people is – be reconciled to God.
This world needs a saviour. The world is in darkness, with the burden of sin and without hope. God rescued us from powers of darkness and saved us through the forgiveness of sin. but there are numerous people on this earth who are walking in darkness. Now God appointed us (who are born again) to bring the message of salvation in the hearts of the people of this world.
This appeal is for everyone in this world. Be reconciled to God.
God has already done the work of our reconciliation on the cross. He finished his work. Forgiveness of sin is now available. People can come out from the bondage of sin and can be reconciled to God. It is the complete work of the Lord. By faith, everyone can receive it.
We are His personal representatives on the earth. However, none of us can truly represent the Lord in our own strength. That is why God has provided us with His power and authority so that we can work for Him. He is our sufficiency, and we go in His Name.
