When Lord, Jesus was ministering on this earth He was sharing Gospel and healing the sick. During his 3 ½ year of earthly ministry Lord, Jesus taught his disciples to do the same things as he was doing. He taught his disciples how to share Gospel and he gave them power and authority to heal the sick. Every disciple of Jesus has got the same power and authority to heal.
Matthew 10:1 Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
Luke 9:1 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases,
We can see the results-
Luke 9: 6 So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
Mark 6:13 they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.
After the Pentecost, In the book of Acts we found disciples were healing the sick and casting out demons.
Acts 5:16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
In fact Jesus said one of the
Mark 16:18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
So, in conclusion as disciples of Jesus, we should preach the gospel and heal the sick without any doubts. God was working in the ministry of the disciples so people were getting healed. In the same way people will be healed by your prayer too.
