Vicky Roy is a very soft-spoken guy from a small town in Burdwan, India. He was born and brought up in a particular religious faith. From his early days, he observed his faith practices regularly. Even though he did not understand spiritual things deeply, he respected other religions too. During his teenage days, he came in contact with the “New age” faith group and became a member of it. Some years later he was invited to a church building by a local friend. This is the place where Christian worship and fellowship was usually conducted.
Vicky was excited to join this new church group, as he could reunite with his old school friends there. Over a period of time, he became a regular church building visitor and member. As he was part of the group, he was told that he needs to be baptized in water. Vicky did not know much about the baptism, but he decided to get baptized. As he was continuing with this fellowship he understood his lifestyle had not changed much. He was leaving a life of sin and bondage. He was in sexual sin, rebellion and he did not understand how to come out of this. Even though he was following the religious understanding, he was living a double life.
One day a brother shared with him the Gospel. He was told about forgiveness of sin, freedom from bondage and new life through Jesus. He started reading the bible to understand the truth. He realized that he needs to receive new life in Jesus Christ. He repented for his sins and rebellion and turned to Jesus Christ. He got baptized in the water again. He understood that his previous baptism was not by faith, as he was not repented for his sins previously. Consequently, he was baptized by the Holy Spirit. His bondages of sin were broken and he received forgiveness and freedom. He started living the new life in Jesus Christ. He then went back to his friends who were living in sins and started sharing the Gospel. He prayed for sickness and people are healed. He started casting out Demonic spirits by the power of God. He is growing up in the spirit and he is making disciples of Jesus.
Vicky started sharing the gospel with his family members – mother and only sister. They could see a change in his lifestyle. They heard the gospel from him and understood the requirements of new life. Vicky’s mother and sister also received new life recently. Let God be glorified through this testimony.
