You have received the Sonship

The wonder of our born again experience is this – we are more than just saved from God’s wrath, we are not just forgiven of our sins but also we have been brought into a quality relationship with God, described in terms of a father-son relationship.

1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are.

God could have simply saved us and given us eternal life and that would have been more than we deserved! But he did so much more. He adopted us into his family as his son. This sonship belongs to every Christian, whether male or female.

Galatians 3:26-28 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 

We are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. There is no distinction between male or female, for you are all one in Christ.”

Just as the Church is called the “bride of Christ” (Ephesians 5:25-27; Revelation 19:7-8) and we are the Bride, regardless of whether we are male or female, in the same way, each and every believer, whether male or female, is a son of God.”

There is a special status of sons in Hebrew culture. The sons get the authority and responsibility of the father. We have the power and authority of God and also we are responsible for God’s work on the earth in our generation.
