We started from Dhaka railway station to reach Birampur. Five of us boarded the train at 0930 hrs on 3rd Jan 2020. We got into a general compartment and it was crowded. We enjoyed a lot throughout our train journey. Bangladesh is a country of natural beauty. We crossed several rivers on the way. The fields on both side of the railway tracks were all used for cultivation. It was mesmerizing to look at the rural natural beauty. The train was very fast and sometimes it was moving slowly, stopping in between each station for very short duration. The stations are mostly over-crowded. Lot of rural people were transporting their goods. We were enjoying our journey .
We reach Birampur station at about 1830 hrs. The train was late due to some reasons. The local friends received us from the station. We were provided accommodation in a guest house maintained by a local Christian NGO. The local pastor’s family gave us a warm welcome with dinner. The temperature was relatively low in Birampur during night. We were provided with enough warm clothes.
The very next day we started our discipleship training in a nearby place. It was a class room with enough sitting arrangements. We shared the gospel repentance, baptism. Around fifty youths attended that training. After that there were many interested to repent for their sins. We divided into two groups and we started helping them with repentance and deliverance. Holy Spirit helped us to discern their problem and we needed to cast out the demonic. That evening three girls decided to get baptized into water.
We took them to a nearby river where there were much water and we could baptize them. After baptism we prayed for Holy Spirit baptism. As we laid hands on them and prayed, one girl was filled with Holy Spirit.
The next day we decided to take the participants reach out to nearby villages to share gospel to heal the sick and to cast out Demons. We wanted to help the participants to learn how to share gospel and to heal the sick. We divided into three groups and we reached out to three different villages. We reached out to the people on the road, in houses etc. Many got healed from their sickness and delivered from the demonic instantly. On the way we found a Muslim young man trying to walk with the help of a walker. We started praying for him. He had a brain stroke previously and his one side was damaged- unable to respond. We prayed for some time and he started walking without the walker. It was a total surprise for the family. They thanked us for this development. After the lunch session we had a time for sharing testimonies. And the students testified about their experiences. We had some time for counseling the participants.
Third day two more girls repented and were baptized in Jesus Christ. We could share gospel and heal some people on the way to the river. Evening we had a good time of fellowship in a local elder’s house. We could visit some people and pray for some sick people.
Fourth day we had to move to Jaypurhut area. On the way we were invited in a school to meet the School Principal. He was very hospitable person. We could pray for his back pain. And he was healed instantly. Some more teachers came forward to get prayed over and they also were healed. It was an amazing time with the school teachers. Next we boarded the train to go to Jaypurhut area.
During these days we had wonderful time to have fellowship with the believers and we learned to operate in many spiritual gifts like prophesy, word of knowledge, discernment of spirits etc. Some of us opened up about personal struggles and we prayed over him for God’s guidance. It was a wonderful time with the Lord. We thank God for using us for His glory.
