GOSPEL IS THE POWER OF GOD

Romans 1: 16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

This verse does not say that- Gospel tells us about the power of God, or that the Gospel releases the power of God. This verse says Gospel has the divine power of God to lead people to salvation.

Gospel consists of man’s sinful condition, how Jesus Christ paid the price of sin on our behalf and how to receive new life and live a life in God’s obedience.

You should not be ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God to salvation. When you proclaim the gospel with the people, they are introduced to this power of God to receive freedom from bondage. They can be set free from sin, rebellion, additions, un-forgiveness, resentments, lying, stealing and all kinds of sins. God’s power is available to them when they hear the gospel. They can be set free from the bondage of sin, they can be set free from bondages of the kingdom of darkness and enter into the kingdom of God.

Unless you preach the gospel to people then they will live in bondages and darkness throughout their life. If the power of God is not available then they cannot be set free. That’s why we need to share the gospel with this sinful world.

Gospel is not only the power of God for those who are not born again but it is the power of God who already receives new life….

1 Corinthians 1:18, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

As a born again believer in Christ it is the gospel that is the power of God.  The gospel helps them to live a life of obedience to Christ. Also, it is the power of God in a believer’s hand to reach out to the dying world.
